Well it is the end of my exam period And I'll soon have the money to buy a new processor and get Gmodding again. I'm looking for some suggestions for a reasonably priced quad core AMD, any ideas? Plus I work in a games store now in cambridge

it runs everything perfectly i get a solid 60 FPS on L4D2 with Near-Max settings when combined with my Ati HD4650

That isn't what he was asking for Donkie... My guess is he isn't getting a whole new motherboard, so he can only fit an AMD processor in.

Is there a price range you're looking for, and will it be the correct socket? They like to change them frequently.

Aha, thankye things, I was mainly looking at the phenom II X4 but that athlon II X4 looks good for the price, I'll have a lookout for some reviews. And by the way, when I get said new processor I'll be redemanding admin status

Just had a poke at some reviews and that processor looks pretty promising for what I need

I have AMD Phemon II Black Edition 2x but i unlocked 2 of them so its 4 cores now :o, runs pretty nicely, 100 euros (about 80 pounds) or if you want to play safe and get the 4x core its about 150 euros (about 120-130 pounds?) 2x core one is 3.2 GHz and the 4x core one is 3.6 Ghz if i remember correct. But yeah, i say Phenom is the way to go

Sounds gewd... I really need to research this stuff properly , I'll get a 64 bit version of windows 7 when I can be bothered, currently will be running 32bit XP
